Scenic Drive

We took a ride down the coast to the Pigeon Point Lighthouse to get a better view.  Nice day.  Ended with a reenactment from Titanic.

Oh Joy!

Please forgive us for embarrassing our animals for a good laugh.  Well at least Petu was shamed.  Buster was liking his new found hair and thought he looked rather dashing.

Getting ready for the nog!

I’ve finally got some time off to post.  Also to buy my Christmas presents that will now be New Years presents.  Although we did get our annual rosemary bush for a Christmas tree.   It’s a live one so we can plant it in the yard.  Of course,  if it survives 3 weeks in my hands.  Which just reminded me that I haven’t watered it yet.  Oops.  Petu is also enjoying the fireplace/heater again this year.  He sits right in front of it until his insides cook.  We have to manually remove him every so often.

Oh Christmas tree

Hey, I think I know what next years costume will be….

It  occurred to us the other day the Petu and Buster resemble the two evil characters in the movie “The Fifth Element”.  Yes, I do like this movie and have to watch it whenever it is on.  Luckily that was the other day to make this distinction….you tell me.

Halloweenie!

Well Halloween has come and gone…and it was fun.  We over bought on the candy this year because we ran out last year.  Paul’s brought it to work though so we won’t gain 10 pounds before the holidays roll around.  Well here’s a couple of pictures of our homemade decor and Buster and Petu in the holiday spirit.  We spent a whopping $5 on the big ghost…and I think it kinda shows.  Oh well.

My mom gets credit for the fabulous cape Buster is wearing.  I think we’re going to use it again next year when he goes as a mexican wrestler.

While I was gone….

Paul kept himself busy this weekend with the chain saw.  Not the chainsaw from the previous post that he was fixing….that’s still work in progress.  A neighbor came by and noticed Paul was struggling and lent him his gas power heavy duty chain saw.  Too much power leads to bare yard.  Now he didn’t know what to do with the waste so he did a posting on Craigslist for Free wood.  Here it is…….

Free Wood! natures fuel. (pacifica)

Date: 2008-09-07, 6:06PM PDTAre you planning a beach bonfire, burning a witch or just wanting a cozy fireplace?  Well, I have a bunch of free wood. In all shapes and sizes, some quite unique others possibly comical. Not planning on burning it. Wood, also known as “natures Lego” has quite literally hundreds of uses such as carvings, whittling, re-enactments from Twin Peaks.  Maybe just scare the kids by making a bundle of sticks a la Blair Witch.  It’s all for the taking (please note the very large piece of vertical wood that is attached to the ground, is not for the taking).   This wonderful free wood is located outside of 395 Carmel, Pacifica.   Just help yourself.

It’s still there…I don’t know why.

It’s really been awhile…sorry.

Yeah yeah yeah, I know it’s been awhile.  Here’s some babblings.

The Ross family came for a visit last month.  They came, they saw and they liked.  We had a good time too.

Petu went missing for three days.   We were like two frantic parents.  I had a feeling he was stuck somewhere so I asked the neighbor to check her garage.  He was in there.  Needless to say he’s on house arrest now, with limited fresh air access.

Paul got a broken chainsaw on Craigslist with the thought of fixing it.  Will update the exciting progress.  Presently it’s not going so well.

It’s been awhile.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted.    Mostly due to the lack of a computer.  Ours finally came to a slow death.  Apple geeks took their sweet time to tell us it wasn’t worth saving.   Needless to say we had to get a new computer.  Funny though, MACs are the only thing that don’t inflate.  We got more computer for the same price we paid for our old one.  This model comes with a camera built in…which has potential for a lot of fun.  It also does different effects…fun.  We still have our old one, it’s a fine paper weight.

Well that’s it for now, I’ve got to get cleaning.  Paul’s dad, Jane and the two kids(who are now young adults) are coming into town for a visit.   I’m sure there will be lots to type about when they come.

Cheers…Sandy

Free things to do…

Janet and Ray came up this weekend, it was good to see them both. I took some picture of our adventures…

We took the stroll up Telegraph Hill hoping to see the wild parrots. They flew up and perched just as we were walking back down. If you don’t know There was a documentary about the parrots- http://www.wildparrotsfilm.com/.

They don’t know where they come from but they live in the wild and made their home on Telegraph Hill. It’s a good place for wild parrots. While your walking telegraph hill it doesn’t feel like your in a city at all. You can’t access it by car, only stairs. makes it interesting for the houses along this path. The residents must have the best calf muscles. If you keep going to the top you get to Coit Tower. There’s quite a view of the city from the top but we didn’t do it…long line, overcast and you had to pay.

Carnie Fun in Pacifica… Paul and Janet both won fine art. Celebrated w/ cotton candy.

The next day we took a drive 10 minutes south to a beach along highway 1. According to a breathless woman we passed on the staircase, it was 148 steps down a cliff to get to the beach but was worth it.
